Sleeping Disorders
Insomnia is one common disorder that is widely self-acclaimed by many. Many assumed they're insomniacs. I am was a strong believer in this. I can relate to this one so well, I tell you.
FYI, feeling sleepy during class or meetings, doesn't qualify you as a sleeping disorder sufferer yah.
There are various types of sleeping disorders. You may think you're suffering from insomnia but you could possibly be suffering from something else really.
One thing for sure, there's no such thing as paying back your sleep ok.
Adults need, at the very least, 6 good hours of sleep (not inclusive of waking up to take a leak). So if, say, today you sleep 4 hours... that don't mean that you gotta pay back 2 hours tomorrow ok. It doesn't work that way, my friends. Try to maintain a regular sleeping pattern.
Anyway, this is common everywhere but this could also be fatal in some cases. I, for one, discovered yesterday that I suffered from one of the disorders. *gasp* And my lecturer even said, this one needs treatment. *sunk lower in seat*
Basically, there are 2 major ones - DYSSOMNIAS & PARASOMNIAS.
Dyssomnias alone got so many different types lah. This one is more serious than Parasomniacs. And I'm one of the Dissomniacs. Sheesh. I suffer from Hypersomnia. Meaning:
- Excessive sleep -> ME!
- Experience excessive sleepiness as a problem -> ME!
- Complain of sleepiness throughout the day -> ME!
- Are able to sleep throught the night -> ME too!
Narcolepsy
This is the more interesting one. This one is really bad man. You could be laughing away at a joke or crossing a road or going to kill someone --- when you just fall into a deep sleep.
This condition causes the sudden loss of muscle tone (read: paralyse), triggered by strong emotions.
Well, I'm not gonna explain all here. Don't think anybody is interested actually. But anyways, I'm just sharing what I think is beneficial to know since it's common.

And with that, eat well and sleep well.
