The Legend. @ 9:51 am

Today's Discovery:
Today (actually yesterday) I discovered that if you eat lots of fatty foods, talking while eating will help you not to gain that fatty weight. That's why the French are all slim even when they like to stuff their face in all that food glory.

AND tummy fat is much more worse than obesity because it disrupts your metabolism and can cause diabetes.

Shin is too hot and suave in that video. And for that, I'm falling for him all over again. Haha. And that watch on his wrist is a killer man. Ah well, I might as well just snap out of it.

Many years ago, I watched P. Ramlee's 1955 Hang Tuah. The first Malay film with colour. At that time, I only remember the scene where Sa'adiah was dancing a hypnotic dance and stabbed the weird looking fella with a weird looking knife.

Yesterday, I happened to watch it again and after researching about it months ago, I finally understood the legend. I, or my mother's side rather, partly hailed from Melacca so it's natural that I'm somehow interested in the rich side of the state. Whenever I go for trips, I love hearing stories and stories of Melacca was one of those that I loved.

I can't stand the M. Nasir and Tiara Jacquelina's version tho'. I almost died watching that one.

However, I knew from young that Hang Tuah don't deserve all that recognition from its people. I hated him actually. No doubt he was an exceptional warrior but he was one stupid fella to suck up to the Sultan for the wrong reasons and has no principles at all except that the Sultan is great, the Sultan is fantastic yadda yadda yadda. Chet!

Like my dad always say, "Tak kena tempat." I so agree with him.

The politics among Royalties, till now, are really amusing to watch sometimes. Sad.

Through and through, I stood by Jebat altho' I disagree with his unruly behaviour. Jebat went to avenge Tuah and Tuah killed his closest companion just cos the Sultan asked him to. It was truly a tragedy. The love of a friend. How he stood by Tuah was just too touching... either that or Ahmad Mahmud was too good an actor.

Tuah is not all that great after all. He is definitely not a great thinker. One who does not uphold justice, only loyalty to the Sultan that he is willing to sacrifice anything and anybody, even if it means killing his friend. It's so sad that it made me so mad.

So much for friendship lah. At the end of the movie, Tuah asked himself regretfully, "Siapakah yang benar? Jebatkah benar, atau akukah benar?"

("Who is right? Was it Jebat, or me?") A question that befalls all Malays at that time.

Hang Tuah, because he remained loyal to his Sultan and killed a traitor, even though he was his closest friend? Or Hang Jebat, who was willing to die fighting against injustice and in defence of his friend? - Source.

Hang Jebat's famous quote was, "Raja adil raja disembah, raja zalim raja disanggah" which literally means "A fair king is a king to obey, a cruel king is a king to fight against".

So true.

But who was the true hero? Sadly, neither. But you can tell I'm a lil bit bias. Heh.
