Sleep, or the Lack of It. @ 1:50 pm

Latest research has shown that the lack of sleep is deadly as it leads to heart attacks and stroke. There has been an awareness raised as this is a potential killer. Concerns are targeted to those who sleep less than 5 hours per night. These people have a double risk of dying of heart disease.
Higher mortality rate are seen in those who sleep more than 9 hours. So all you part-time night owls can start to worry right about now.
This was according to a large scale study done in the UK. Not something I made up for fun. It was even in the news.
So sleepless in Singapore is undoubtedly one of those in the spotlight. Not sure if I'm one of them but I sure don't have sound sleep at night. I have the dark circles to prove em. Schtoopid.
One of the things that's been issue in my life, disrupting my restoration period. I am certainly not like those who just fall into slumber the moment their head hit the pillow. Well, unless I'm totally worn out. But on most nights, it isn't always easy.
Most of the time, work is responsible for destroying our sleep cycle, no? Especially those who work shift. My mom is one of them and I'm starting to worry for her. What has the society turn us into? Health and life is no longer important, money and status is the priority now.
Pity.
